Now You Are Talking!
Death Penalty for Rebellious Children!

A Republican candidate for the Arkansas (USA) legislature, Charlie Fuqua, says children who don’t demonstrate “respect for parents” should be put to death, the Arkansas Times reports.

Fuqua --  honest to God, this is his real, God-given name! -- is a former member of the Arkansas legislature and has received support from the Arkansas Republican Party and two sitting members of Congress.

Here’s the key passage from Fuqua’s 2012 book, “God’s Law: The Only Political Solution“:

The maintenance of civil order in society rests on the foundation of family discipline. Therefore, a child who disrespects his parents must be permanently removed from society in a way that gives an example to all other children of the importance of respect for parents. The death penalty for rebellious children is not something to be taken lightly. The guidelines for administering the death penalty to rebellious children are given in Deut 21:18-21:

Fuqua helpfully notes that “This passage does not give parents blanket authority to kill their children.”

Rather, parents would have to “follow the proper procedure in order to have the death penalty executed against their children.” Fuqua assures the reader that, in his view, the procedure would “rarely be used.”

The threat of death would, however, “be a tremendous incentive for children to give proper respect to their parents.’

Fuqua, reached by the Huffington Post on the issue, declined to comment.

Fuqua’s book previously came under scrutiny for advocating expelling all Muslims from the United States. In response, Fuqua said he believe his view on Mulims were “fairly well-accepted by most people.”

This guy sucks. Just a thought: maybe change the title of the article so it doesn't seem like sikhchic.com is supporting him. Unless sikhchic.com is ... in which case that would be really weird. [EDITOR: We had a quick vote here in our office, and our entire staff is unanimous: that it's a brilliant idea. What do other readers think?]

I think the death penalty is a great idea and that we should have more of it. Like, when an adult says or writes or does something really, really stupid. Get my drift?

"Duet 21:18:21" - whatever it is, should have been applied to this deficient Fuqua brat by his parents for such idiotic pronouncements. I suppose it is not too late to apply "Duet 21:18:21" considering his mental age. Let's see how gurbani deals with this one: "jaissaa baalak bhaa-ay subhaa-ee lakh apraadh kamaavai / kar updays jhirhkay baho bhaatee bahurh pitaa gal laavai / pichhlay a-ogun bakhas la-ay parabh aagai maarag paavai" [GGS:624.17] - "Like the child, innocently making thousands of mistakes, his father teaches him and scolds him so many times but still gives the child a hug in end. Please forgive my past actions, O Lord, and place me on Your path for the future."

Children are an extension of their parents: bad parenting usually means 'bad' children ...

Wonder what he thinks of honour killings practiced by some imbeciles when their daughters marry people they don't like.
