Boxing Day Sale
by T. SHER SINGH
There's good news for writers and speakers. Boxing Day is upon us and there are sales galore to regale us.
I am told every major store-chain has put up its special "word cluster" packages on incredible mark-down prices. There's bound to be a mad rush for them, especially during these pre-Christmas days when sales are being held prematurely.
Not to worry. Here's a tip:
The Dollar stores - which I frequent all year round - have boxes of these "word clusters" on regular sale. At - yes, YES, it's true, a dollar per bundle!
They even have special bundles - my favourite is the one with just Articles. Yes, both definite and indefinite ones. Hundreds of "a"s, "an"s and "the"s. And, as a bonus, they've even thrown in a bunch of "ifs" and "buts".
Go for it, friends. This is a great opportunity to replenish your supplies and save a bundle doing it! AND, at the same time, make editors feel warm and fuzzy.
And, one last tip.
If you're a member of Costco - those fine fellows who supply you with a hundred and twenty rolls of toilet paper at a time - I'm told you can pick up a whole box of "a"s, "an"s and "the"s for a steal.
Tell them I sent you, and who knows, they might throw in a few commas and semi-colons, just to be nice!
Oh, don't wait. Go for it! [Please.]

Why would you put up a graphic like this, where the colors and the schematics are clearly designed to be associated with a horrible regime, is beyond my comprehension. Surely, at this time of the year, most of the peoples of the world are trying to celebrate something good. Let's try to put forward a positive message, which is generally the case on this website.
