The prestigious literary journal is inspired by renowned writer Michael Ondaatje ("The English Patient").

Brick "publishes literary and creative non-fiction, though its exact fare is eclectic and reflects the tastes of its large and distinguished editorial board, led by Michael Ondaatje."

Jaspreet Singh is a novelist, essayist, short story writer and a former research scientist. His latest novel, Helium, will be published by Bloomsbury in 2013.

He is the author of the novel Chef (2008 Vehicule Press/2010 Bloomsbury), and Seventeen Tomatoes: Tales from Kashmir, a collection of linked stories.

We strongly urge sikhchic.com readers to purchase this issue ("BRICK 89"), and to subscribe to the magazine as well, in order to enjoy, inter alia, Jaspreet Singh's excellent new essay
