97-Year-Old Mann Kaur Bags Five Track & Field Gold Medals,
74-Year-Old Son Gurdev Singh Wins One Too

At the Canadian Masters Track & Field Championship recently held in Regina (Sakatchewan, Canada), 97-year old Mann Kaur bagged five golds … 100 M, 200 M, 400 M, Shot Put and Javelin Throw.
In the 400 M event, she set a new world record.
Her son, Gurdev Singh -- a mere 74-year-old -- won a gold in the 4x100 relay, with a finish time of 61 seconds. He allso secured two bronze medals … in 100 M and Long Jump.
These medals are but the latest in a long list of wins Mann Kaur has been collecting for years, the most recent one being a gold medal in the Asia Masters Athletics Championship in Taiwan in 2012, and two gold medals … in 100 and 200 M races … in the World Masters Athletic Championship held in Sacramento (california, USA) in 2011. Both of the latter were world records.
The mother-son duo is now based in Canada, though Mann Kaur still spends much of her time training in Chandigarh, Punjab.
The Canadian Championships were held in Canada from July 26 to 28, 2013.

Mann Kaur and her son Gurdev Singh are gifted with special qualities which makes them create history and records at their age. Their simplicity, humility and healthy habits about food intake keep them going. God bless them.
