Surrey, British Columbia Action Hero:
Police Constable Ranjit Singh Seehra

NATIONAL POST

Constable Ranjit Singh Seehra is no stranger to the camera.

During a recent visit to the Surrey Royal Canadian Mounted Police ("RCMP") detachment, fellow officers approached him to poke fun at his online fame. The object of the ribbing is an epic chase video.

Ranjit Singh’s star turn came during a dramatic motorcycle chase at Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, on February 20, 2015.

With a storyline ripped from an action movie, a police helicopter tracks a rogue motorcyclist evading police and speeding into the mall’s rooftop entrance. A surveillance shot then shows Ranjit’s speed and endurance as he follows the motorcyclist down an escalator and out a set of automatic doors.

With eight years as an RCMP officer, he won’t forget this experience.

Ranjit grew up watching superheroes in cartoons like Batman and Superman.

“They were very amusing characters but it was what they stood for in the end,” he said.

It was the idea that “good will prevail over evil,” inspired him to become a police officer.
