Flight of the Melody

NEWS REPORT

The Centre School of Music presents ‘Parwaaz - Flight of the Melody’, a musical recital by Harpreet Kaur Neelam on Sunday, December 13, 2015, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

It will journey through Punjabi Folk, Khayaal, and Sikh Gurbani Kirtan.

Harpreet has been singing gurbani kirtan in gurdwaras across North America since the age of five.

Singing the compositions of Guru Arjan, Amrita Pritam and Waris Shah, the evening of transcendence will have a distinct Sikh feminist flavour.

Harpreet is excited to share her passion with you at the Small World Music Theatre on December 13, when the doors will open at 4:30 and the recital will start at 5 pm sharp. Dinner reception will follow at 6:30 pm.

Harpreet has been, for over six years, under the tutelage of Professor Paramjeet Singh, a renowned musician from the Patiala Gharana.

Proceeds of the recital will be going to ‘SAFAR- The Sikh Feminist Research Institute’ to support a creative art book on eco-feminism.

The artwork above on this page has been created by Rubani Kaur Quami.
